THE SIMPLE THINGS...

Before Mommy and Daddy got me, they went to see the Pop Life exhibit at The Tate Modern, which is sadly over now, or else Mommy said she would have taken me to see it for myself...

Mommy said was one of the best shows she's ever seen (even Daddy liked it), largely due to the fact that they were showing the same Mick Jagger Warhol that my Grandpa has, an 'over 18' Jeff Koons installation, and entire room devoted to Japonism, Mommy's true calling...

People often ask my Mom if she is part-Japanese, but it probably has more to do with the fact that she wears hats with ears, and LOVES Hello Kitty! She also loves this guy, Takashi Murakami, who Mommy swears should be given the Nobel Prize... This madness is called 'The Simple Things' and is a collaboration between Takashi Murakami, Pharrell Williams and Jacob the Jeweler; it sold for over $2M in under 20mins flat... Mommy says it recalls Warhol's glorification of everyday objects and Koons's notion of artificial luxury, by crafting everything from a condom to a ketchup bottle in 18Kgold and diamonds, which are then displayed in the open mouth of Mr. DOB, who is really, REALLY high on Magic Mushrooms...

I'm not really too sure what this means, but I can't help but think Takashi Murakami knew EXACTLY what he was doing when he made everything my size!!! I bet if he had met me, he would have asked me to make a guest appearance in Mr. DOB's mouth... It could have been my 15mins...

And just in case you weren't convinced, Takashi Murakami went and made THIS video ('Akihabara Majokko Princess') with McG and Kirsten Dunst, who if you ask me, has never looked better... There are so many good bits, I wouldn't know where to begin... Takashi Murakami in a Flower Ball suit??? Priceless!!! It's almost enough to make me want to dye my coat blue- almost...

[OK, there USED to be this amazing video clip here, where Kirsten Dunst ran around Tokyo in some Harajuku school-girl outfit and blue wig with a glittering wand, and Takashi Murakami donned a gigantic Flower Ball suit and bounced around a studio, and people like Nigo (A Bathing Ape) made random guest appearances, all the while singing the famous Vapors tune 'Turning Japanese', but sadly, the link has become null and void for copyright reasons... ]

Oh, and he's also gone and made the first 'designer' QR code with MJ and the peeps at Louis Vuitton- who else?! Don't you think that looks like me in the middle there???
